It seems as though Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love is on his way out of town, with Cleveland being his likely destination. It has been reported that Minnesota would be interested in trading for Thad Young, weather in the same deal with Love or not. One name that has been thrown out to help secure Love's arrival to the Cavs is Andrew Wiggins who Cleveland took with the top pick in this year's draft. Rumors have been stirring that a three team trade involving the T'Wolves, Cavs, and Sixers could be in the works. If Wiggins is in fact on the table, Sam Hinkie would seem to do almost anything to try to land him. It was well documented how much of an effort Hinkie made before the draft to try to move up and snag Wiggins, so if the opportunity presents itself to trade for Wiggins, it would be hard to turn it down. In order to get Wiggins, the Sixers would have to give up more than just Thad Young, the question is how much more? Joel Embiid's name was thrown out there, but this seems unlikely. Then again if it means getting Wiggins, I wouldn't rule anything out.
I remain skeptical about this trade going down and basically giving up on Wiggins before he even plays one game in the NBA. What seems more likely to happen is Minnesota trading Love to Cleveland, and then the Cavs making a separate trade to try to get Thad to replace Kevin Young. Sam Hinkie has stated that he expects Young to be in the starting lineup for the Sixers next year. However if the right players are involved, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Thad in Minnesota next year.
